Works everything, but some flaws

For the top of the line Logitech Harmony remote, the 880 is a good buy in my opinion. You step up to a view screen that helps manage your entertainment activities.
One design problem for me is that the whole top surface of the thing is covered in buttons, and there's no real place for you to grab it. The result is you're always inadvertently pressing buttons you didn't mean to.
Secondly, I agree with reviewers of the other Harmony remotes in this series - it is not very user friendly to program. The online programming tool on Logitech's website requires you to be somewhat internet and tech-savvy, at least when I used it over a year ago (early 2006). They may have improved it since then.
Finally, when the remote is programmed, it loads in way too many functions that are selected from the side buttons next to the view screen. It loads in functions for every model in that particular line of A/V equipment, regardless of whether or not your stereo or TV has that function on it. The rub - there's no way to modify, that I can find, these choices. So if there are several from a more top of the line model that you don't need for your model receiver, for example, you have to scroll through pages and pages of screens to find that one that you do.
Overall though, it is a very good remote and through its ability to group components together into "activities", manages your A/V experience quite capably. I recommend this remote to anyone looking to mothball all of their existing remotes for one slick competent replacement.
