cool, geeky, expensive, slow

I got one of these for my parents - its really sleek and makes whoever use it feel techno-aware.
But its waaay to slow to transfure anything significant. I was going to get one of these for myself, but at 3600rpm its unsuitable for anything other then word documents. I was going to use it as an emergency boot drive, with disk utilities on it, booting took forever (not windows).
A portable 2.5" 40gig 5400rpm drive in a USB2 case is four times as fast, has ten times the storage and is similarly priced (depends on things, is often cheaper).
Honestly, if you want shirt pocket style portablility, go get a 256mb flash drive, don't bother with overpriced geek gear like this.
Very useful, and durable

I've had this drive for about a month or two now, and I love it! It's fast, very lightweight, and the design and light on it look sweet. It transfers one big large file a lot faster than many small files, but it's still fast enough for me. It makes no noise that I can hear when it's being used. But the best thing about this is the durability. I was letting one of my friends see this and he fumbled it and dropped it about 4 feet onto a hard tile floor!!! I thought for sure it would be broken, but it was just scuffed up and it continues to work! I'm very happy with this drive.
I use one of these for diagnostics.

I work in a computer shop, and have been using one of these dor about a month. It has saved me in all sorts of situations, including data backup from systems with no NIC's.
My only regret is that the data transfer rate is exceptionally SLOW. No matter what system, the USB 2.0 speeds are WAY below par. I'd love to have one of these of my own, but it's too slow for my users.

Excellent for what it is intended

After reading earlier reviews, these folks must be total geeks to even expect blazing speed from a USB drive such as this. These folks must have cussed and fussed back in the days when floppies were used if speed is their only concern. I do agree the cable could be longer. It is what it is and it does it well!
