This system exceeded my expectations. The DVD player is quite, doesn't freeze during play, is easy to program and hasn't given me any trouble. The amplifier is built into the compact sub-woofer box with volume and tone controls. The hook up is easy and the patch cords are labelled on both ends which was a nice touch. It sounds great with my existing speakers (4 ohm). The 5.1 surround comes through nicely and it's a lot of fun.
